James Barrett

Hi everyone! My name is James Barrett. I am one half of the Attempt Adventure team, and I and want to take a minute to introduce myself. I love the outdoors and exploring new places and cultures. I will be taking care of the US half of Michael and my shared adventures with a focus on natural beauty and the hidden gems in the country.
From me, you can expect fun stories and a lighthearted approach to the world around us. I try to come at everything with a positive attitude and a good sense of humor. I hope you enjoy the ride and I promise not to disappoint!
Interests and hobbies: hiking, climbing, SCUBA, cooking, anything to do with the mountains or the ocean, exploring new cultures, TTRPGS, general nerdiness, and climbing onto dangerous ledges that definitely should not be climbed on.
Michael Desrosiers

Hello! I’m Michael Desrosiers, the other half of the Attempt Adventure team. I moved to Bangkok, Thailand in 2013, and have been living and working here ever since. In the past few years, I’ve traveled extensively throughout East and Southeast Asia, and I’ll be in charge of Attempt Adventure’s Asia travel content.
My main travel interests are in world culture, food, and history, and you can expect a lot of deep culture travel and experiences from my blog posts and videos. When I travel, I really try to discover the soul of a place through its cuisine, festivals, and authentic culture.
Interests and hobbies: trekking, camping, adventure photography, urban hiking, museum tours, and slowly building up my tolerance to the point where I can enjoy increasingly spicy food.
